Watershed 1967, the book, at the Chandigarh Military Litfest 2020:
A forgotten event of history for fifty long years, the Watershed battles of 1967 have now been revived and remembered as India’s historic victory against China.
Not many knew about India’s victory over China in 1967. Until 2020, that is. Probal DasGupta‘s book, “Watershed 1967 – India’s Forgotten Victory Over China” brought the historic event into public consciousness.
on 19 December, Watershed 1967 got featured in the 4th Military Literature Festival at Chandigarh. The book session saw Probal in discussion with illustrious army veterans – Lt Gen (Retd.) N. S Brar, Lt Gen (Retd) J. S. Cheema and Lt Gen (Retd) K. J. Singh.
The panel discussed the events that led to war, espionage involving CIA and political actors, Lt General Sagat Singh’s role in the victory and its impact on the events that followed.
